THE WINNER OF THE KIRIN FIRST CUT
SHORT FILM COMPETITION 2011 IS
The Dreamers, Directed by Matt Maude
Kirin First Cut were inundated with entries for our inaugural short film competition to create a representation of the First Press Kirin Ichiban brewing process. Our panel of industry experts carefully selected a shortlist of just four films to put to the public vote. The results are now in and we are proud to announce that Matt Maude´s film, The Dreamers, has won Kirin First Cut 2011. Matt created a film that looks at sleepwalkers as they wonder through the night recalling their first kiss, earning him the winning prize fund of £3000 as well as the career defining honour of having his film shown at the 55th BFI London Film Festival and the London Short Film Festival 2012.
The Kirin First Cut runner up was The Money Shot by Graham Rathlin, who wins £1000. 3rd Place goes to Door Open by Schuman Hoque & Carolina Giammetta, who win £500. 4th place goes to The Perfect Pair by Craig Connolly & Jack Judd, who win a year´s supply of Kirin Ichiban beer!
